Introduction to Graphics programs

There are lots of basic concepts and terms used in the IMAGE lab help pages. To make sure you're ready for our more advanced help pages, skim (or read thoroughly, if necessary) the pages below. They will give you a basic understanding of some of the underlying principles at work in the graphics programs in the IMAGE lab.

• Paths -- how to create and manipulate path objects using standard tools

• Layers -- how to manipulate overlapping images in nifty ways.

• Frames -- the key to making animated web graphics

• Vocabulary -- a few of the terms you will come across as you learn about these topics

• Making Screenshots -- how to capture images from the screen
