Freehand

Freehand is a powerful drawing program that will allow you to make detailed graphics for print documents or for the web. Freehand can switch easily between "vector" graphics that can be rotated, resized and moved at almost any point during the creation process and "bitmap" or "raster" graphics that are pixel-based.

NOTE: The best way to start learning a new program is to follow the tutorial supplied by the program's makers. Feel free to use the instruction manual for the program (ask the lab assistant for it if you can't find it) and follow the tutorial inside.
