Fireworks: Text
This page explains how to add, adjust, and
modify text elements in your Fireworks document.
- Add Text
-
Text added to Fireworks images is added as text objects, each
with its own properties and specifics. Adding text objects is not too
difficult to do.
To add a text object to your Fireworks image, do the following:
- Click the text tool in the fireworks tool bar. The image for the
text tool is an "A" (shown to the right).
- Click on your screen where you want your text to appear. If the
text doesn't appear exactly where you want it to, don't worry--you can
move it later.
- The text properties window will open. See below for details about
the text properties window.
Once your text looks the way you want it to, click "OK" to close
the properties window and create your text object.
- Adjust text
-
The text properties window allows you to adjust your text in a variety
of ways. After you type the text into the white space at the bottom
of the window, you can alter it using the tools listed below.

- Modify text
-
There are two ways to modify the text of your text object (If
you want to modify the object as a whole by flipping it, scaling it,
or anything else, do so as you would any object):
- Using the black arrow tool, double-click on the text object to
open the properties window.
- Using the text tool, highlight the portion of the text you want to
change to open the properties window.
