Dreamweaver: Integrating Other Media

Macromedia has designed several functions to enable you to shift easily from program to program, and to make output compatible as well. This page will show you how to take output from Flash or Fireworks and integrate it into existing webpages.

Adding Flash or Fireworks content to your Dreamweaver page is amazingly easy. First, you need to use Flash or Fireworks to export some content that you want to include in your page. Then follow the steps below:

Dreamweaver Insert Flash and Insert Fireworks icons

  1. Click either the "Insert Fireworks" or the "Insert Flash" buttons on the toolbar (right).

  2. Type in the file name for the file you want to insert or click "Browse" to find the file directly (dialog box below).

    Dreamweaver Insert Media Window
    Dreamweaver Insert Media Window

  3. Now you can treat the inserted media as a single object and align it, move it, etc.

Wasn't that easy? See our examples pages to see an example of some integrated fireworks output.
