Core_FTP

Core_ftp allows you to connect to remote systems from your PC (either at home or, as these pages imagine, from the IMAGE lab). Once connected, you can transfer files to and from those systems. When connecting from home, or to learn more about ftp, peruse the NWE help pages on the subject.

To use Core_ftp from home, follow the home help page.

To use Core_ftp in the IMAGE lab, choose the following menus:

Start CLASnet Applications core_ftp

A connect window will open, giving you the option of connecting to the following servers (among others):

CLAS Netware Server -- the novell server. This is the server that houses your h: drive. You can only connect to this server if you are not logged in to an IMAGE PC.
NWE -- the nwe file server. You can connect to this to transfer files to and from your CLAS Unix files. These are the files you have access to from the Solaris computers in IMAGE.

To connect to one of the servers, make your selection, type in your username and password for that selection, and click "OK." The main Core_ftp window will appear and, if you entered the right password and username, your files will appear in the right-hand column.

If the server failed to connect, there will be a message to that effect in the white box below the columns. Click "Connect" to try again.
