Windows sound controls
The Windows sound controls appear in two places: in the tray
at the lower right-hand side of the screen, and as their own control
panel.

- Find the tray at the lower right-hand side of the
screen. Locate the speaker icon.
- Click the speaker icon once.
- The volume control will appear just above the tray.
Using the sound control
- Volume
- To control the volume for the built-in speaker, use the mouse to
slide the volume bar up or down.
- Balance
- Balance and a variety of other controls are available on the
sound control panel. To access the sound control panel, double-click the speaker
icon in the tray. The sound control panel will open.
Alternately, you may open the Start Menu, select
Settings, then select Control Panels and then select
Sound.
- Mute
- If you don't want any sound to play, click the Mute box to turn
off sound entirely.
